Can't see any google calendars other than main

Recently from my computer I created another calendar in google calendar in order to share it with family, without having to share my main calendar (so this calendar can include only events of interest to all of us, without clogging each others calendars with dentist appointments or reminders.) On my Xperia Z3 Compact I can see my main, unshared calendar, as well as a calendar that was shared with me by another family member, but not the calendar I created using my connected google account and shared with other family members. I can see all calendars when logged into google calendar on my computer. How do I get it to show up on my phone?

You sound comfortable using the calendar so I'm almost hesitant to suggest this but if you go into calendar and click on menu, you should see all the calendars available to you (you have to tick them for them to be visible).

Another thought would be to try forcing a sync under Google in Accounts (if autosync is off in Settings/Accounts).

Final suggestion - make certain your calendars are synced or otherwise saved/backed up. Wipe Calendar Storage in your Apps list (should be under "ALL") and then re-sync. This worked for the lady in the article below:

That's rather odd, what if you share it with yourself?

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. Yes, the calendar is shared with myself.  If I open it from my computer my account is listed as "Make changes AND manage sharing".

When I click menu and view all calendars the list of available ones is:

Default account (Device calendar)

Google (my e-mail)

Google (Holidays in the US)

Google (my mothers's email)

So I can see my main google calendar, and the google calendar that my mother shared with me, but not the separate calendar I created using my google account and then subsequently shared with my fiancee.  If on the other hand I open google calendar from my computer I can see under "my calendars" my calendar, my mothers calendar, holidays calendar, and the calendar I made for my fiancee and myself.

Autosync is on for my calendar, and I forced a sync just now as well, but no change. I also tried deleting all the data as you suggested, and then resyncing, but nothing Slightly_frowning_Face It just doesn't seem to recognize that my google account could have multiple calendars associated with.  Perhaps I will try creating the calendar using a different google account, and then sharing it with myself and my fiancee instead, so that it doesn't get confused with 2 calendars from the same account.

Alternatively.  Is there any way to just delete Sony's calendar application and use a google calendar app directly?  I did not have this problem wtih my old Nexus phone.

*Edit: I read the rest of the article you linked, past the proposed solution, and it actually discusses the above. I will try that and see if it works (unfortunately my google play store isn't loading properly at the moment as I have a poor data connection.)  Thank you very much for the article, your google-fu is superior to mine!

Success! I installed the google calendar app, and from that app I was able to select and turn on syncing for the new calendar, which now shows up in my standard Sony calendar app. I guess the Sony calendar app just doesn't go deep enough into the menu system to do syncing for multiple calendars per account, but once you turn it on with another app, it will show up. Thanks for directing me to that link!

Hi Susan

I'm very pleased you resolved your problem.

I can barely claim any assistance, as I was drawn into the wipe calendar data option in the link, which has worked for me with separate calendar issues (I don't use google's calendar functionality and use a wonderful free prog called My Phone Explorer to sync with my outlook 2010 calendar).

Glad you bothered to read all the article (as I hadn't lol).

Also, glad it's all sorted.

Thanks for marking this solved and thanks to the others for the kudos!

Regards,

Gary
