Sony Xperia Z - Dead, won't turn on, won't charge, PC doesn't recognise

Hi there

Bought an Xperia Z about a month ago. Had slight lag issues but nothing too serious.

My phone ran down and the battery died two days ago. I put it on the charge (its been on the charge pretty much ever since) with the red LED lit up. LED turns off completely when unplugged.

Phone will not turn on at all; have tried all of the manual resets (holding power button and volume button etc); have read these forums and searched the web for a solution to no avail. PC doesn't recognise the phone so can't reset it via PC Companion. Basically, I have an $800 unresponsive brick.

Very very disappointed to say the least. Phone was very well looked after, and to have it die simply because the battery ran down is extremely worrying. I've seen that this issue is very common yet there doesn't seem to be any definitive fix for it whatsoever.

Any help that anyone can give me would be really appreciated

Firstly, please ensure that you leave the handset on charge for a good hour or so to ensure it has charge, then when you get to the connection step please ensure you are holding the volume down button after you have connected the handset or the drivers wont install for the flash device.

mine is happening on a daily basis. to get it back up fast (for me),

1) plug it into a PC or charger to see the red led

2) press and hold the tiny yellow button near your sim slot

3) hold it there and your phone will continue to shut off, on, shut off, on etc

4) hold it there till you see the sony icon

mine usually boots back up in < 1 minute. good luck on this temporary solution until sony decides that we customer's are worth their time

Help! Sooo woried. Had my Z3 one week. My phone was on 2% battery level discharging. It suddenly went off and I tried turning it on by pressing and holding the power button until a short vibration happened. The screen came on as it would and displayed the black screen with just Sony and Xperia on it (as it usually does) however the phone then turned off again and wouldnt turn back on. I plugged it to the wall charger and the led light would not turn on and nor would the phone. I tried multiple ways such as holding the off button (next to the SIM card slot)  nothing happened. I also tried holding the power button and the volume up button for eight seconds and still nothing happened. One method triggered 3 vibrations in quick successions. Nothing happened. Strangely, one method revealed one long vibration which lasted for about 20-30 seconds. After this I plugged it in to the wall charger once more. The solid red light came on. After looking on support i was told to leave it for at least 30 minutes before trying again to turn it on. After 40 minutes it still wouldnt turn on. Since this I have not experienced any vibrations or led lights. I am extremely woried.

Knowing that the screen does work, am 90% sure it isnt water damage; just a problem which i can't fix. Any ideas? Or should I take it into a store?

if ur phone cant turn on after do all that option.
1. touch the red reset button
2. volume up or down + power button
3. charging at 20min - 2hour.

Hi, guys.  Just started enjoying my Sony Xperia Compact a few days ago and today i got distubing reaction when it just stopped working.  I didnt really observe what the battery level was but it just shut down without warning.  Been fiddling with it all day changing chargers and sockets like a mad person.  THanks to you guys i pressed the on/off button and the volume key and finally the led key is on.  I will let it charge for a few hours to tell if there is no major damage.

Ciao guys... thamls a looooot
