Hi there
Bought an Xperia Z about a month ago. Had slight lag issues but nothing too serious.
My phone ran down and the battery died two days ago. I put it on the charge (its been on the charge pretty much ever since) with the red LED lit up. LED turns off completely when unplugged.
Phone will not turn on at all; have tried all of the manual resets (holding power button and volume button etc); have read these forums and searched the web for a solution to no avail. PC doesn't recognise the phone so can't reset it via PC Companion. Basically, I have an $800 unresponsive brick.
Very very disappointed to say the least. Phone was very well looked after, and to have it die simply because the battery ran down is extremely worrying. I've seen that this issue is very common yet there doesn't seem to be any definitive fix for it whatsoever.
Any help that anyone can give me would be really appreciated
My xperia Z1 Compact is the same problem and i got no way out for this problem.
just Dead, won't turn on, won't charge, PC doesn't recognise and Battery always drained .
In my local service center it have to change the mother board.

IF any of you have sony zl and your warranty is voided already ,
i will tell you how to fix it.just need a small work.
here is what it needs:
IF u have SONY ZL AND YOUR WARRANTY IS OVER then try this @ your own risk.(but i revived my phone)
open your back cover ,dissable cables of battery, thten try to reconnect it, charge your phone,NOW it should show Sony logo and will charge.
Sometime it works as mine did,but sometime it doesn't .
So don't get angry on me when it doesn't.But spread this solution if it works for you and mention what problem you had.
Excellent advice thank you.... worked for me!!!
I encountered the same situation with you guys. the only solution (not final) is to pressed multiple times the power button of my cellphone. it boots-up but after I stop pressing it, it dies again and it goes back to the same problem, (when plug-in lights up RED LED and vibrate 3 times) and cannot detect by PCC. I just hope that this can give an info to solve this problem as a lot of sony users are having the same problem globaly. I just hope that sony employee and tech support can read this post. Thank You and hoping for a good reply.
This solved it for me for me!

I had the same problem, if i wanted to turn on the sony only the red led light flashed multiple times.
This could be because my battery was fully drained (because when i turned it on it was at 1%) or there was a problem with the boot.
if you press all the 3 buttons (power, volume down, volume up) for like 8 seconds and then release them, the sony logo would appear, at least for me.
i hope this was usefull for you
Goodluck with your sony!
same problem is wid me.......but the sony service centre people told dat its mothrbord have to be replaced...........
what is the cost of xperia z's motherbord???
thanks..it worked on that i used the volume up simultaneously with the power button!
This happend to me twice, i tried to buy another phone but i love so much my Xperia Z even with this issues, believe it or not, the two times this happend ( all battery gone, phone wont turn on, and donde charge and the pc doesnt recognise) got another charger (a original one from sony) plug in my pc and just wait a few minutes, u gotta see the red led on, and then if u press the on/off button u must see that the phone only have like 1% of battery, let the phone charging and its all.. it work for me
I had a similar issue with my Xperia Z. When I plugged it in, the light did not even blink and my pc did not recognize it. I checked the cord using a different phone to ensure that it wasn't faulty, and it wasn't. Holding the power and volume down button DID turn my phone on. My pc still doesn't recognize the phone however....
Is your problem of xperia z1 solved.?.. if yes ..then how
