Sony Xperia Z - Dead, won't turn on, won't charge, PC doesn't recognise

Hi there

Bought an Xperia Z about a month ago. Had slight lag issues but nothing too serious.

My phone ran down and the battery died two days ago. I put it on the charge (its been on the charge pretty much ever since) with the red LED lit up. LED turns off completely when unplugged.

Phone will not turn on at all; have tried all of the manual resets (holding power button and volume button etc); have read these forums and searched the web for a solution to no avail. PC doesn't recognise the phone so can't reset it via PC Companion. Basically, I have an $800 unresponsive brick.

Very very disappointed to say the least. Phone was very well looked after, and to have it die simply because the battery ran down is extremely worrying. I've seen that this issue is very common yet there doesn't seem to be any definitive fix for it whatsoever.

Any help that anyone can give me would be really appreciated

Not really sure if i did everything right but at the end it worked for me!

I detached the SIM and pressed the small yellow button a couple of times for 5-7sec and i turned on my phone!

So i can say it works for Sony Xperia Z5!

Thank you Slightly_smiling_Face

It works....

It really works

Thanks a lot

Ive think that i should throw my old Z3 away because my phone wont charge, undetected by computer, just like a brick after my battery drained out.

And after doing your instruction, my phone worked normally like before

Excellent advice. First followed youtubetip - tryung to reset battery yellow tiny button by repeatedly pressing. No effect. Press and hold for an amount of time made it!

I tried everthing in this forum and nothing helps. On the end I was able to resolve problem. So i remove back of phone and disconnect battery (well the back of phone was damaged anyway). Then i was able to use sony pc companion to repair software without battery. After that phone reboot and work normaly till moment i connected again to charging. It all start over - dead device, red light, no reaction. So i remove battery again and repair software again. Looks like the problem all the time was damaged charging port which in some moments of movment was making device to turn off and bahaved like like completly discharge. So for now i order magnetic charging cable and new back of the phone. All cost 6 euro with delivery. Phone is fixed for now and working normal. Hope that will help sombody if nothing else helps. Good luck all
