Sony Xperia Z - Dead, won't turn on, won't charge, PC doesn't recognise

Hi there

Bought an Xperia Z about a month ago. Had slight lag issues but nothing too serious.

My phone ran down and the battery died two days ago. I put it on the charge (its been on the charge pretty much ever since) with the red LED lit up. LED turns off completely when unplugged.

Phone will not turn on at all; have tried all of the manual resets (holding power button and volume button etc); have read these forums and searched the web for a solution to no avail. PC doesn't recognise the phone so can't reset it via PC Companion. Basically, I have an $800 unresponsive brick.

Very very disappointed to say the least. Phone was very well looked after, and to have it die simply because the battery ran down is extremely worrying. I've seen that this issue is very common yet there doesn't seem to be any definitive fix for it whatsoever.

Any help that anyone can give me would be really appreciated

Have you tried with another charger as suggested?

Check also by pressing the 3 buttons Power, Volume down and Volume up for about 8 seconds and then release them and see if the Sony logo appears.

My manager's phone happened to have the exact same problem. This is what helped: 

1. Open the micro SD card slot

--There's an "off" button hidden behind a hole

2. get a paperclip or something you can push through this hole. 

Push the button and hold it for a while. Do this again. 

The power button started the phone after this.

Thank god, my phone is working now. As I stated in my earlier response, I tried every possible way so that phone could switch ON. But unfortunately all efforts went in vein.

Finally I approached to the place from where I bought this device. Their engineer told me, he is going to fix it for me.

However, he kept my phone with him for almost a week and he fixed the problem and returned back to me. As per him, issue is with power system of XPeria phone and it is a common problem to it.

He replaced some IC's for power system. 

I am using phone back from past 10 days and is working absolutely perfect, except I am worried about water proof sealing of device back.

I suggests if Sony cannot provide a solution to it, please consult a good and qualified service engineer for a reputed mobile store. because I am very upset from the responses given by SONY Team on this issue to me and even seeing on this page where so many customers are complaining but SURPRIZINGLY NO RESPONSE FROM SONY CARE!!!!

I pray it will work fine.

My xperia z shutdown All sudden n if I Again power on it.
It Goes off & off again n again.I also disabled stamina mode but didn't .work. it Only opens while .charging n doesn't power shutdown help me

I'm going to add to this.

Xperia Z2 D65002 low battery usage rendered the phone dead (sleep of death), with only the red led while connected to the sony charger lit up.

Any combination of power, volume, and the red pin of any duration (apparently up to 120 seconds, that was interesting enough - really, sony? 120 seconds?) - did precisely nothing. 

I'm going to go ahead and assume taking it to the sony service will fix it, but I'm going to pay my respect to the 2 year old thread of people - that got punked by their high end handset device going bye-bye without any kind of after-care from sony. 

Thank you for a pretty decent device, but ladies and gentlemen of Sony, the entire Z series? How is this still a thing?

My Xperia Z C6603 just lay on the table, but when i picked it up, phone didn't start. It won't turn on, it won't charge, PC won't recognise it, and LED won't indicate anything at all. Now, my Xperia Z is just a piece of glass brick.. Pressing three buttons didn't help.
