Hi there
Bought an Xperia Z about a month ago. Had slight lag issues but nothing too serious.
My phone ran down and the battery died two days ago. I put it on the charge (its been on the charge pretty much ever since) with the red LED lit up. LED turns off completely when unplugged.
Phone will not turn on at all; have tried all of the manual resets (holding power button and volume button etc); have read these forums and searched the web for a solution to no avail. PC doesn't recognise the phone so can't reset it via PC Companion. Basically, I have an $800 unresponsive brick.
Very very disappointed to say the least. Phone was very well looked after, and to have it die simply because the battery ran down is extremely worrying. I've seen that this issue is very common yet there doesn't seem to be any definitive fix for it whatsoever.
Any help that anyone can give me would be really appreciated
Hi maly25, welcome to the community!
Did you try running a software repair through PC Companion?
Hi SophiaW, I cannot turn on the phone and my computer does not recognize it. Only when I connect the phone to the computer and press power plus volume up button then I can see mobile as S1 FastBoot, but I have not driver.
Hi @maly25
If you press the 3 buttons Power, Volume down and Volume up for about 8 seconds and then release them, the Sony logo should appear.
Also try to connect your device to a wall charger and let it charge for 2 to 3 hours, even if it doesn't seem to be charging and then check if you are able to boot your device..
If my answer was helpful for you, please thank me with Kudos.
I'm at disposal for any question.

Hi @xavinux
I tried press the 3 buttons, bud nothing appeared. When I connect my phone to wall charger, the red led and battery logo constantly appear for 3 seconds and then they disappears and so on... I let the phone charge for 2 hour, but battery still low.

For all.
My problem was solved. I had to disassemble the phone, disconnected the battery connector and the battery connected to a charger separately (I have DC Power Supply 4V 2A). The battery was low about 2,5 V therefore the mobile was not possible to turn on. I charged the battery about 10 minutes then it had 3,6 V. Finaly I connected the battery back and plugged it in wall charger with SUCCESS :smileysmileywink:
This way is not easy and a warranty is off!!!
OK so i went to the pool and wet my SONY EXPERIA Z halfway with the camera on
and I took it immediately away from the water.
When I first plugged in, my phone was showing the red light then it stopped
then the red light and over.I pressed the power button and the volume + and - for 10 sec
all together and it started vibrating 3 times and the red light was showing,
then it would stop and all over again. So I unplugged it and pluged it back but
the red light wasn't showing at allllll
Pleaseeee help meeeeeee, anyone, anything !!!!! i dont know what to do.
hi @Drewsen, I tried several different chargers whitout success. The phone works well now with original charger.
