Sony z3 compact xperia back and home button not working
1. The drop down notification menu does not displays properly when slided over from top to bottom
2. Back and home button works once in a blue moon. Previously they were working great. Now i will have to try for more than 25 times to make that happen or restart the device.
Please let me know if this is a software issue caused by the latest software release or is there a way to bring back the old version of software. Eventually i need a working software and not this piece of ugly software quality.
Please respond when this issue will be resolved.

My pull-down screen stopped working quite a whle ago.
Tocuh resposiveness has been on the decline, then yesterday Back, Home and Recent all stopped working.
I've been looking through the forums for an answer but the answer seems to be "Sony has made a dud phone"
They don't seem very forthcming in offering answers, much like UE in the case of their speakers with failing batteries,
I used to enjoy your products Sony, but I'm out. I'm buying a Nexus phone and will never buy Sony again. This is utterly ridiculous.

Download the app " Multi-Action Home Button " as a workaround. This gives you a new home buttion and extra functions like "go back"

My Sony cameras, Sony Hi-Fi audio, Vaio laptops, all have been OK. But my latest Sony devices, SW3, Z3 and Z5 with problems totaly unsuported from Sony are my last Sony for ever. This is to thank you Sony. VP

It is just terrible! Installed 'ADB tools' worked fine for a while, till Sony made the 'navigation keys' inactive again! I did try the 'ADB tools'again, but this time it did not function! It is a mess Sony! What are you willing to do to fix your mess?

As a 'bypass' for the navigation keys you can go to 'playstore' and install a 'navigation keys app', like I have done, awaiting for Sony to make its own 'navigation keys' available again...

If u search the forums u will find that Sony are using "planned obsolescence" on the screen of this model. Aprox 2 years and the screen starts to fail. First the pull down area at top of screen then the 3 bottom buttons. The main fix is a new screen but at $400 to hav it replaced by Sony repair centre!! I ordered one from ebay and followed the utube instructions. Cost me $50. Screen works ok except for totally freezing sometimes but resumes operation in about 10 seconds.

thank you for the tip, my home and back button stopped working today and this has helpped, i just wish Sony would get off their asses and get these issues rectified, their quick enough at taking our money but not quick enough at fixing their own bugs/faults which by this thread is a pretty bad one, and now it looks like i have to buy a new screen too. not happy sony,

I bought a new Sony Xperia Z3 compact from China from ebay and the back and home buttons are not working right out of the box. Should I send it back or is the warranty good in Canada?
