HELLO,
my friend and I just purchased sony xperia s handset. She upgraded her phone to ICS while i havent. After the upgrade, she is not able to download from the play store or the browser. She is using 3G. When she tries downloading, it just gets stuck to downloading.
if we follow this
Settings > apps > all > google play store > clear data
will all the apps get deleted too?
and what if nothing happens? should she downgrade it?
please help.
i m hesitant to upgrade because of this issue. but i really want to upgrade it without such problems.
please guide.

thankyou guys for your support!! 😄
i mailed sony support and they adviced me to do a full factory reset. i followed their instructions and voila! its working again! app are getting downloaded! no problem whatsoever! :smileygrin:
xperia s is an amazing phone!! ^_^
it shouldn't delete the apps. you can create a backup.
does her internet work? at all
yea. it works perfectly.
she can browse, watch videos and everything. the only problem is that she cant download apps. as in it just shows "downloading" and it never finishes.
and yea i tried this
Settings > apps > all > google play store > clear data
but nothing happened.
I would say repair it with either SUS or PCC and try again.
Some apps behave like this. For example I have real trouble with my SwiftKey app. Every time I try to update it through Wi-Fi it gets stuck mid-way. It will work perfectly through 3G/Edge though.
Can be something with her Internet set up on the provider side.
I am sorry i am a newbie in this. What is SUS and PCC
how will it help?
or should i go to the service centre?
But she could properly use play store when she was using GB.
but now she cant...
PCC = PC Companion.

SUS = Sony Update Service.

I Also Faced This Issue When I Upgrade To ICS But I Tried Two-Three Times And Its Working..You Can Also Try 2-3 Times And If You gace This Again So Go To Sony Service Centre And They Upgrade Or Repair Your Software 🙂
