No Automatic Brightness?

No Automatic Brightness?

I just got my Xperia Arc in Canada a few hours ago.  Previously, I was using a Nexus S from Google (Android 2.3.3).  This is a new account activation so I could switch phone for a limited time.

There is simply no Automatic Brightness with Xperia Arc (Android 2.3.2).

I know what Automatic Brightness is and it is simply not there.

Please!!! Fix this issue.  And Android 2.3.4 is coming soon?  When can we expect an upgrade?

the auto-brightness doesn't seem to work right now.

Yes, the function is not there, period.

Hello,

You're right about automatic brightness not being included. I have not seem anything planned about this in future updates, but that does not mean it is off the table.

As for updates, at this point we have only dicussed 2.3.3, and I don't have any information to share beyond that.

WHAT!?

The hardware ambient light sensor is already on the phone.  What's the point for it being there if there is no automatic brightness?

In that case, which level of manual brightness setting do people usually use?

I'm hoping other people also reply, so you can get a good picture.

I use about 25% brightness on mine. I set it the first day and just forgot about it.

I am thinking the fact that isn't this feature already a part of Android OS?  All you have to do is just to enable it, right?
