kdl-50w685a Faulty - Yellow Vertical Lines
Well this is more of a rant than asking for support because the TV is truly screwed.
Yellow vertical lines running down the screen with a high pitch noise. Seems to be a common fault with Sony Bravia TV.
TV is barely 3 years old, and it's already developed a fault. I would had thought paying near towards a grand you would certainly get longer out of it. Sony has really dropped in quality over the years.

Hiya
You're welcome to have a rant. I surely do at times - it works too
I dont think this is a comom fault with Sony TVs - But verticle lines can be a fault across the LCD technology. Could be a loose connection between panel and PCB. Faulty T-Con board or LDVS cable - or even panel failure.
You could have an authorised Sony repair center diagnose the fault and quote you on a fix (assuming parts are available). If indeed its the panel, it would certainly be un-economical to repair. See:
