Installing Preinstalled Applications in Vista and above - VGN-FE11S

Dear Forum Users,

Please could someone instruct me on how to install the preinstalled applications that came with my laptop originally using the recovery disc I made after receiving the laptop in 2006, Autoplay doesn't do anything and all the files on the disc are .pac files.

Many thanks,

Timbuctoo

Hi rich912,

I totally understand with what you are saying and thank you for replying with your suggestion, I'll give it a whirl and see how far I can get, I'll also try the preinstalled apps from the sony pages as well.

Many thanks,

Hi timbuctoo,

The pre-installed software is only licensed for the original OS unless you do an in place upgrade as opposed to a clean install. The disks you created are only intended to reinstall the system, drivers and pre-installed software back to factory condition.

To open .pac files you will need to Google  ‘kcap unpacker’. Some members claim to have had success with this but unfortunately Sony considers this to be piracy so we are unable to provide further help with this on the forum.
