hi everyone i have the z2 and on thursday the screen just went very dim and dark. the brightness is set to full but still does not inprove the screen from being nearly black. i contacted sony who said it was a software problem and to use the pc companion to install the firmware again which i did and still the same. so looks like it isnt a software problem any other suggestions to fix this. the phone was purchased in may 2014 thanks for any help in this matter. have attached a picture. belive it of not the screen is actully on at full brightness lol but looks off
This might be hardware problem after all,stop by a sony service.
thanks for the reply i have no idea where my nearest sony center is and will the warranty cover the repair
will have to contact them monday then. if sent for repair will i need my receipt of purchase of dosnt that matter thanks
You should have a proof that you bought the phone but better check that with them.
ok thanks for the info will contact them. I lost the receipt when we moved but i wouldnt have the phone if i hadnt brought it lol
I know,but they can be very meticulous.
so if they refuse under warranty will cost a fortune to get fixed. to me its like the back light has failed or screen is on the way out
There is a very high chance that if you can't supply your proof of purchase, they won't honor the warranty. I'm not sure of the costs for this sort of repair, but imagine you'd be looking at a new digitiser and whatever else needs doing.
I'd say you best go to where you got the handset and see if they can do a reprint of your receipt.
