Sony Xperia Z - Dead, won't turn on, won't charge, PC doesn't recognise

Hi there

Bought an Xperia Z about a month ago. Had slight lag issues but nothing too serious.

My phone ran down and the battery died two days ago. I put it on the charge (its been on the charge pretty much ever since) with the red LED lit up. LED turns off completely when unplugged.

Phone will not turn on at all; have tried all of the manual resets (holding power button and volume button etc); have read these forums and searched the web for a solution to no avail. PC doesn't recognise the phone so can't reset it via PC Companion. Basically, I have an $800 unresponsive brick.

Very very disappointed to say the least. Phone was very well looked after, and to have it die simply because the battery ran down is extremely worrying. I've seen that this issue is very common yet there doesn't seem to be any definitive fix for it whatsoever.

Any help that anyone can give me would be really appreciated

I didn't fix it. No luck with Sony or the retailer - was given a replacement phone and it has the same issue a few weeks after. After a lot of effort I got a refund and bought an iPhone 5s!

Got a similare problem today.

Was listening to music and got some error screen flashing (or multiple opening) "xperia home has stoped working" or something.

I restarted the phone, screen was black, held off and volume button down, phone was dead.

Can't charge, pc can't find it, nothing.

Hey Guys,

Basically my xperia Z was on charge yesterday (35%) and all of a sudden it stopped charging.

I checked the charger and tried all the other chargers i had in my house but it just woudlnt charge. 

Then eventually, my phone ran out of battery and died.

I left it to charge over night but still no luck. Ive tried all the reset buttons and other stuff but it still isnt working. 

Now the red light blinks 3 times when im trying to charge it.

ANY HELP PLEASE?

My phone is suffering with same problem now. I gave to Sony service and they are saying motherboard problem and I have to change it seems. Actually this problem is very common in Sony. I don't know why Sony is not taking any steps to resolve it. And more over we have to pay for motherboard within which we can get a new phone. And as warrenty for device is over we won't get any privelages.And even it takes about a month for changing motherboard in Sony service center. Very disappointed by Sony service.
Sony should resolve this or we all sony users with same technical problem of sony should do something.
Let's see any sony official shows concern to slove this problem for this many users problem.Which is a product failure and not user's fault still we have to pay for what so ever problem in product.

Waiting for reply from concern sony support or an official to answer.

I removed my phone from charge and still the charge LED was on. I clicked power button and It didnt start. so i tried switching off. Still didnt work.So i pressed power button and volume UP button. Then that LED was off. Add phone didnt restart. And again i tried switching On and tried resetting. Even the LED is not blinking neither the phone is switching on. Its like a phone without power. And then i read your suggestion and used PC Companion. Even in that i downloaded the Software. and while connecting phone to it. the phone is not reconized. I'm sorry to hear that but you have to contact your Local support, don't assume that all issues are the same.

I heared in local Sony service center that one same xperia z same problem and they changed mother board and battery for Rs.9000 . And my friend has xperia z1 compact,Even he faced same problem. And then he decided to buy new phone instead of depending on Sony and phones. Its a issue with Sony, not with users. And service center asked me to pay Rs.6850. Which is for 4100 for mother board ,1500 for battery,500 for service (water proof phones) and 750 for tax. I don't understand what's my mistake. Because when I removed phone from charge it automatically died. I didn't throw down or anything. Its very bad experience of using a Sony phone. So, try to resolve problems with our phones and service price= new smart phone. Well done Sony. With nice support

Guys I have a problem my phone dropped and died but when I plug it in the red light is dim and then bright while the Sony logo keeps on and off I am desperate right now as I had no other phone please help me ASAP

im getting real suick of sony ive always loved your phones and always bought em ive never used another brand last month this happened i had to send it fo repairs and this happens again

My Phone is working now after using Dock charger for Charging.

Please try this if your phone is not chargin with your wall charger.
