How can I turn off the startup tone on a Bravia?

Is it possible to turn off the startup tone on the welcome screen of a Bravia? I have navigated all the menu options and have searched online for an answer with no joy!

Try this..

Go to the Home menu..

Then browse to Settings..

Followed by Sound..

In the Sound menu click on Key Tone..

Select “Off” to turn off the sound and this should also turn off the TV start-up sound..

I wish this would work on the KDL-40EX600 to but no luck.

Have same problem with my KDL-26EX302 and KDL-32EX302, updated to the latest firmware but neither in the menu nor in service menu is such option. Can anyone help?

Yup - there is definitely an option there to turn off the boot sound. Maybe have a quick check in the manual as it should detail it there also.
